How you''ll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)
The co-op will take part in a 3-rotation program which will leverage their capabilities and talents from learnings through school including extracurriculars to support Delta Air Lines logistics operation within Inflight, On-Board Service. The co-op will provide support through leveraging various tools from Microsoft Excel, Python, AI enabled systems (and others) for performing analytics that assist in driving transformative practices. Additionally, the role will support teams through process re-engineering efforts, progressing projects that enhance inventory management, and identifying new opportunities for how the organization should operate by means of new technologies, techniques, and best practices. The co-op will have an opportunity to apply both soft and technical skills while building up their professionalism / business acumen from mentorships with several Delta professionals.
Key Responsibilities & Considerations
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
Strong standing within an accredited undergraduate College, University, or Institution by demonstrating aptitude in completing coursework and extracurricular involvement
Working towards completing a bachelor's degree in Business / Engineering / Data Science
Must commit to a 3-rotation program with Delta Air Lines (e.g., Spring27 / Fall27 / Summer`28)
Must have completed 30 credit hours of course-work
Coursework for any classes taken during rotation must be completed outside of the mandatory 8 working hours occurring Monday through Friday (schedule set by assigned manager)
Can effectively manage time and stay organized to complete workloads and assignments
Must be able to take direction and operate autonomously to complete tasks
Needs to communicate clearly for articulating information to support requests and project deliverables
Should bring positive energy to the workplace and take initiative to ensure requests / project outcomes deliver intended value to Delta Air Lines
Must be comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-moving business environment
Can utilize business standard programs effectively (e.g., Microsoft: Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)
Demonstrated interest in working for Delta Air Lines
Understanding of supply chain management, inventory management concepts
Prior experience working in an environment with having to handle inventory (retail, warehousing, grocery, restaurant, etc.)
Extracurricular Involvement in Relevant Social or Scholastic Clubs
Can demonstrate a desire for continuous learning and provide examples of methods actively being used to keep growing knowledge base outside of curriculum requirements
Strong mathematical and technological skills
Experience presenting outcomes to groups with vested interest in results
Relevant Degrees:
Supply Chain Management / Logistics
Industrial [& Systems] Engineering
Business Analytics
Tools and Capabilities:
Experience using any of the following coding languages / tools to complete tasks:
Python / SQL / R
AWS / SAS / SQL Server
Arena / Simeo
Tableau / Power BI
Visual Studio / Kiro / Red Hat
GitLab / GitHub
Knowledge and usage of AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT / Claude / Grok / Gemini, etc.) including the ability to structure and create prompts
Ability to speak clearly about projects and situations within which you employed any of these tools
