TITLE: General Worker â Child Nutrition Services

QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or equivalent

REPORTS TO: Child Nutrition Services Manager

JOB GOAL: To provide each student with food of high nutritious quality in an atmosphere of cleanliness, cheerfulness, and personal caring.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepares, portions, and serves food according to established standards which includes standardized recipes.
• Prepares, uses, and cleans dishmachine/dishroom according to established standards.
• Assists in accurately maintaining daily records and reports for production, temperatures, and inventory.
• Practices procedures which assure established safety and sanitation standards are met.
• Follows through with job requirements in a timely manner with minimal supervision.
• Incorporates time-saving production techniques, effectively uses government commodities, and merchandise effectively.
• Participates in implementing cost containment measures while maintaining high quality meals and service.
• Attends job-related training classes and workshops.
• Promotes student and staff satisfaction by merchandising and serving meals in an appetizing and attractive manner.
• Can lift and carry 25 pounds of dead weight a minimum of 50 feet.
• Performs other duties assigned that relate to Child Nutrition Services cook responsibilities.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Ten-month year. Salary and work year to be established by the Board.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Educational Support Personnel.

The following are conditions of employment for new employees:

• Satisfactory criminal background check prior to being placed on payroll.
• Satisfactory child protection registry check.
• Mandatory direct deposit of pay.
• Documentation of Mantoux skin test results for entrance to school system.
