C#/.NET Software Engineer III Legacy Modernization

8-month contract
Pay Rate: $65.00 - $70.00per hr.
Our client is seeking a Software Engineer 3 to remediate critical vulnerabilities and modernize legacy applications. This is a hands-on software engineering role focused primarily on backend development, legacy .NET remediation, and migration to modern .NET Core/OpenShift environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and remediate critical/high vulnerabilities in existing applications.
- Work hands-on with legacy .NET Framework code, including applications running on .NET Framework 4.7.x.
- Develop, test, and deploy code changes through the full remediation lifecycle.
- Modernize legacy applications by migrating .NET Framework to .NET Core.
- Support migration of applications from Windows/IIS environments to on-prem OpenShift.
- Develop and maintain backend services using C#, .NET, EF Core, and SQL Server.
- Contribute to React-based UI development as needed.
- Collaborate with engineering and security teams to resolve application vulnerabilities.
Required Skills:
- Five (5) years of experience
- Hands-on experience with both .NET Framework and .NET Core.
- Strong C# development experience.
- Experience with SQL/SQL Server and EF Core.
- Experience with React and JavaScript.
- Experience working with legacy applications, preferably .NET Framework 4.7.x.
- Ability to troubleshoot, modify, test, and deploy application code.

Important: Dedicated cybersecurity or vulnerability-project experience is not required. Strong .NET Framework and .NET Core experience is the priority. Lead experience is not required.
