    Description

Ready to elevate Swiss turning in medical manufacturing?

Let’s talk about a role where precision meets purpose. If you thrive on dialing in complex setups, debugging programs, and coaching teammates while keeping quality front and center, you’ll feel at home here.

    Why this role matters

    • You’ll set up, operate, and maintain CNC Swiss-style lathes to produce medical instruments and implants that meet exacting standards.
    • You’ll be the bridge between programming and production—closing feedback loops, optimizing setups, and supporting new product introductions (NPI).
    • Your judgment keeps production flowing, timelines intact, and quality uncompromised.

    What will you actually do?

    • Perform end-to-end setups and changeovers, including CNC program debugging, machine adjustments, and tool changes.
    • Run and maintain Swiss-style equipment plus finishing machines, hand tools, and fixtures; handle burr removal and part finishing.
    • Read and apply blueprints, inspection check-sheets, and work instructions with confidence.
    • Use calipers, micrometers, height stands, and comparators to verify parts and record quality checks electronically.
    • Use ERP and machine monitoring systems to manage work orders and monitor production status.
    • Provide detailed feedback to CNC programmers; maintain accurate setup documentation aligned with change control procedures.
    • Guide team members in your area to maximize CNC utilization and production attainment; assist with training when needed.
    • Drive continuous improvement for quality and delivery; execute the plan to ensure on-time delivery.

What makes you a strong fit?

    • High School Diploma or equivalent (advanced technical training preferred).
    • At least 5 years operating Swiss-style lathes in a manufacturing environment.
    • Experience with Citizen, Tsugami, or similar Swiss platforms is preferred.
    • Broad knowledge of machinery, tooling, measuring, and gauging; deep understanding of production processes.
    • Proven skill in setups, blueprint reading, routers, and setup files; understanding of basic CNC programming.
    • Ability to judge functional and cosmetic requirements for quality assemblies.
    • Strong verbal communication across production, management, and technical groups.
    • Comfort with lean manufacturing concepts and objectives.
    • Reliability in following instructions and executing tasks as directed by the Supervisor.
    • Alignment with our core values and professional behaviors.
    • Understanding of Avalign’s Quality System, including Measurement Instruction Sheet layout and purpose, and Avalign’s Compliance Policies.

    Growth and collaboration

Work directly with programmers, quality, and production leadership. Your voice will shape programs, documentation, and processes that drive repeatable excellence on Citizen, Tsugami, and similar machines.
