CNC Setup Technician Dual Spindle Lathe

Shift: 1st, (7am-3:30pm)

Pay: $26-$35/hr (Based on Experience)

We are seeking a skilled CNC Setup Technician with experience operating and setting up dual spindle lathes in a precision machining environment.

Job Description:
  • Perform complete setups on CNC dual spindle lathes, including main and sub-spindle synchronization
  • Load, verify, and prove out CNC programs (G-code) while ensuring correct revisions are used
  • Set tooling, work offsets, wear offsets, and part zeroes
  • Install tooling, holders, collets, chucks, bar feeders, and part catchers
  • Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed to maintain quality and efficiency
  • Troubleshoot setup, tooling, and machining issues
  • Optimize feeds, speeds, cycle times, and tool life while maintaining part quality
  • Assist with process improvements, setup standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with programmers to refine CNC programs and setup documentation
  • Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, setup sheets, and work instructions
  • Perform inspections using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and comparators
  • Ensure parts meet dimensional tolerances and surface finish requirements
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of CNC setup experience on lathes
  • Dual spindle lathe experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of G-code and CNC controls
  • Ability to independently set up complex jobs from blueprints and setup sheets
  • Proficiency with precision measuring instruments
  • Strong understanding of cutting tools, inserts, and machining processes
