    Position Summary:

    We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Process Engineer with at least 5 years of experience in SolidWorks CAD, CAMWorks CAM, Mastercam, and CNC programming. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in 3+2, 4, & true 5-axis milling, and 7 & 8-axis lathe turning, and will play a key role in quoting, Lean Manufacturing, process design, first-piece setup of new products, and problem-solving within our production environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop, validate, and optimize CNC programs for 3+2, 4, & true 5-axis milling, and 7 & 8-axis lathe turning equipment using industry-standard software, preferably CAMWorks software or Mastercam.
    • Create detailed machining processes, tool paths, and cutting strategies tailored for aerospace alloys (e.g., Exotics, stainless steel, aluminum) and tight tolerances of ±0.0002 / ±0.005.
    • Establish machining parameters, feeds/speeds, work-holding setups, and tooling selections using best-practice principles.
    • Develop and maintain process documentation, including setup sheets, fixture drawings, and work instructions.
    • Design or specify custom fixtures, tooling, and work holding to support complex aerospace geometries.
    • Collaborate with Quality to resolve non-conformances and drive root-cause analysis (5 Whys, Fishbone, 8D).
    • Support machinists during setups, first-article inspections, and program prove-outs.

    Required Qualifications

    • 3-5+ years of experience in CNC Programming or manufacturing Engineering
    • Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD and G-code programming, CAMWorks preferred
    • Hands-on experience with 3+2, 4, & true 5-axis milling, and 7 & 8-axis lathe turning. Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, and fixture design
    • Experience with quoting, estimating, and process optimization
    • Familiarity with automation technologies and process improvement tools
    • Take the project from cradle to grave and pass it off to the Production Team.
    • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and production planning tools (EPICOR)

    Work Environment & Physical Demands

    • Exposure to moving mechanical parts, coolants, fumes, and chemical irritants
    • Loud noise levels and varying temperatures
    • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. regularly and up to 50 lbs. occasionally with assistance
    • Use of PPE is required per OSHA standards
