What a day looks like

You arrive at the Brake Press Cell and review the day’s work orders with your Shift Supervisor. With blueprints in hand and guidance from the Manufacturing and Operations Manager, you set up your press brake, select the proper punches and dies for the material at hand, and program the CNC controller. Throughout the shift, you form parts to tight tolerances, verify results with spot inspections, and keep paperwork accurate and up to date. Between runs, you clean your area, verify tooling condition, and make fine adjustments to rams and back gauges to maintain quality and throughput. Safety and quality are constants—you follow departmental rules, wear required PPE, and apply ISO and SDS knowledge to every task.

Core responsibilities

• Operate the press brake and complete work orders per specifications and blueprints in the Brake Press Cell.
• Set up bend and forming operations using both standard and custom punches and dies.
• Program and input data on the CNC controller; leverage all features for complex operations.
• Adjust ram and back gauge positions based on process control instructions and prints.
• Hold tight tolerances; configure bend allowances for stainless, aluminum, and steel sheet.
• Perform spot checks and visual inspections of parts, tooling, materials, and processes.
• Read and interpret drawings/blueprints; complete and maintain required paperwork.
• Set up light‑gauge metal and execute efficient changeovers.
• Maintain housekeeping; follow company policies and safety rules; assist with other tasks as assigned.

What you know

• Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with hand and power tools.
• Working knowledge of quality principles and safe work practices.
• Selection of proper punch/die clearances by material type and thickness.

Training and safety expectations

• Know equipment emergency stops and departmental safety procedures.
• Consistent use of PPE: safety glasses, safety shoes, and reflective vest/uniform.
• Ability to interpret Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and relevant ISO sections for this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with Wintriss and Aida controls is a plus.
• Willingness and capacity to work overtime as needed.
