CNC Press Brake Setup Technician

A day in the life

You clock in on first shift, review the day’s work orders, and pull the right punches and dies. You load and tweak CNC programs, dial in offsets, and run a first-piece inspection with calipers and micrometers before releasing the job to production. Throughout the day, you read engineering drawings and tolerances, verify quality in-process, document results, and keep safety at the forefront while troubleshooting any anomalies in material, tooling, or code.

What you’ll do

• Set up and operate CNC press brake equipment to meet spec and schedule.
• Interpret drawings, work orders, and specifications to plan each run.
• Select, install, and align punches, dies, and tooling for optimal results.
• Load, adjust, and troubleshoot CNC programs and machine settings.
• Perform first-piece and in-process inspections to verify conformance.
• Use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers) with confidence.
• Uphold quality, safety, production, and documentation standards.

What you’ll bring

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
• At least 1 year of CNC press brake or related metal-forming experience.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and understand dimensional tolerances.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment.
• Solid shop math fundamentals.
• Mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail.

Schedule & Pay

• 1st Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–4:00 PM
• Pay: $25–$28/hr + overtime
