CNC Press Brake and Turret Punch Operator (Aerospace)

What’s in it for you?

  • Compensation: $22 – $30/hr DOE
  • Location: Kent, WA
  • Schedules (Full-time):
    • Day shift: Monday–Friday, 6:00 am–2:30 pm (overtime as needed)
    • Second shift: Monday–Thursday, 2:00 pm–12:30 am (overtime as needed; $2 shift differential)
    • Training: Approximately 4 weeks on day shift (Mon–Fri)

What you’ll do

  • Operate a range of metal-fab equipment: saws, shears, punch presses, press brakes, grinders, and CNC systems (turret punches, routers, lasers)
  • Perform setups using shims, fixtures, supports, and tooling to achieve precise alignment
  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, work orders, and specifications accurately
  • Lay out material with rulers, squares, calipers, and related tools
  • Inspect finished parts using micrometers, gauges, and templates to meet tolerance requirements
  • Troubleshoot processes and make machine adjustments as needed
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Comply with procedures, work instructions, and safety policies
  • Proactively identify hazards and support safe operations
  • Work closely with teammates and leadership to hit production goals
  • Provide training support to Level I operators (Level II only)
  • Take on other duties as assigned
  • Exhibit consistent, reliable attendance

What makes you a fit

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1+ year of manufacturing/production experience preferred
  • Comfort with hand tools and material handling equipment
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical documents
  • Experience using precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
  • Familiarity with grinders, sanders, and other powered tools (preferred)
  • Background in aerospace manufacturing is a plus
  • More experience required for Level II consideration

The environment & physical demands

  • Manufacturing shop with exposure to:
    • High noise (hearing protection required)
    • Dust, fumes, smoke, airborne particles
    • Occasional temperature swings
    • Heavy machinery and material handling equipment
  • Wear required PPE: eye and hearing protection, gloves, safety footwear
  • Position is considered safety-sensitive
  • Stand/walk for long periods
  • Lift/carry/push/pull up to 50–75 lbs (with assistance or equipment)
  • Frequent hand use for tooling and inspection
  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, crawling, reaching
  • Keen vision for measuring and inspecting parts

  • Must be eligible to work under ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) guidelines
