The CNC Operator, reporting to the general manager, oversees the daily functions of manufacturing machinery. The duties include running tests before the start of operations, programming and monitoring machines, quality control of the cutting as well as machine maintenance. 
 
Core tasks:

•   Program the parts to be cut and operate the CNC according to the need.
•  Respect the due date on the job and manage the priorities
• Prepare the placements before cutting to optimize the raw material.
• Make the placement checked by an other CNC operator
• Confirm with the inventory the raw mat to use
• Validate the raw material: measure and check the quality before cutting.
• Write the length cut on tag of each roll cut / used
• Identify the roll# on each remnant and communicate this information to the inventory
•  Inform the inventory when the roll can be put back in stock
•  Clean the CNC and around after each cut
•  Register in “brown” all placements done the same day
•  Perform preventive maintenance on the CNC and schedule according to the production schedule.
• Perform any related task requested by the supervisor.
  
  

Requirements:

• CNC Operator experience, 1+ year(s) preferred
• Knowledge of software used in CNC operation
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
• Attention to detail, need to be organized
• Able to follow written & verbal instructions
• Ability to read and understand drawings/patterns/layouts
