Wabtec Now Hiring for a CNC Operator (Direct Hire)

Location: Lexington, TN

Pay Rate: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour

Schedule: Sunday-Thursday, 10:30 PM - 6:30 AM (3rd Shift)

Wabtec is seeking a CNC Machine Operator to support the production of high-quality manufacturing components. This role is ideal for mechanically inclined individuals who enjoy working with precision equipment and contributing to a fast-paced production environment.

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • One to three years of industrial or manufacturing experience preferred
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience considered

Experience Requirements

  • Experience operating CNC machinery or similar production equipment preferred
  • Ability to read job specifications, work instructions, and production documents
  • Familiarity with measuring tools and machine adjustments
  • Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail

Job Duties

  • Operate and monitor CNC machines and other production equipment
  • Run cut-off saws, lathes, drill presses, and related machinery
  • Read job specifications to determine machine settings and material requirements
  • Set stops, guides, and machine controls according to specifications
  • Cut, shape, and bend metal sheets, tubing, and structural components
  • Inspect workpieces to ensure quality standards are met
  • Remove burrs, sharp edges, rust, and scale from finished materials
  • Perform basic machine adjustments and troubleshooting
  • Follow established production schedules and work instructions
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
