Description

Nucor Rytec Corporation division is seeking a 2nd Shift CNC Operator in Hartford, WI to set up and operate CNC milling machines according to bill of materials specifications and work instructions. Top candidate requirements include the ability to work the 2nd shift schedule (Monday–Thursday, 3:00 PM–1:30 AM), safely operate forklifts/overhead cranes, and comfortably handle physical manufacturing demands like frequent standing, squatting, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Job Responsibilities

Key Job Duties

  • Machine Operations & Setup: Load preprogrammed instructions into CNC machine consoles, review specifications to determine machining sequences, and safely operate an Up Cut saw to cut and stage parts to size.
  • Workload & Material Handling: Plan daily workloads based on production schedules, safely transport parts utilizing forklifts, and stage cut parts on assembly and milling carts.
  • Quality Assurance & Maintenance: Perform detailed inspections on manufactured parts to ensure conformance to quality standards and cycle times while conducting routine machine cleaning and lubrication.

Qualifications

Candidate Requirements

  • Shift Availability & Experience: Willingness to work 2nd shift (Mon–Thu, 3:00 PM–1:30 AM); preferred background includes a High School Diploma/GED and 6 months to 5 years of related training or experience.
  • Equipment & Tool Handling: Proven ability to safely operate material handling equipment (forklifts, overhead cranes) and experience working with hand, power, pneumatic, general fabrication tools, and precision measuring devices.
  • Basic Aptitude & Physical Demands: Strong basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division), ability to follow simple written and oral instructions, and physical capability to work in a loud manufacturing environment with frequent standing, squatting, and lifting up to 50 lbs frequently (100 lbs occasionally).
