Position: CNC Operator
Location: Farmington, NY

Summary: Nesco Resource is seeking a reliable and mechanically inclined CNC Operator to join a multi-department manufacturing team in Farmington, NY. This temp-to-perm opportunity offers the chance to build a long-term career while gaining hands-on experience in precision machining operations. The CNC Operator will support production across multiple departments, including Mills, Lathes, Sheet Metal, and Cut-Off operations, while setting up and operating machinery to produce high-quality components. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment.

Pay Rate:

• $20.00 - $22.00/Hour (Based On Experience)

Shift(s):

• 1st Shift: Monday - Friday | 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Job Duties:

• Set up and operate production equipment including CNC machines, lathes, milling machines, boring machines, and grinders
• Produce assigned parts according to written work instructions, drawings, and production requirements
• Select proper tooling, speeds, and feeds based on materials, tolerances, and job specifications
• Operate machinery to maintain close tolerances and meet quality standards
• Inspect completed parts and document results on production and quality paperwork
• Record production time, quantities, material usage, and job-related information accurately
• Perform machine adjustments, routine maintenance, and minor repairs using standard hand tools
• Maintain organized work areas and return tools and equipment to designated locations
• Identify and report product defects, equipment malfunctions, and safety concerns
• Communicate process issues or deviations to supervisors and leadership
• Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and quality requirements
• Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) while working on the production floor

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 1-2 years of related machine operation experience and/or training preferred
• CNC, machining, or manufacturing experience preferred
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to complete basic production reports and documentation
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting skills
• Basic math skills including fractions, decimals, ratios, and percentages
• Ability to follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Reliable attendance and safety-focused mindset

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

• Ability to stand, reach, and use hands throughout the shift
• Ability to lift and move materials up to 40 lbs.
• Frequent walking, bending, reaching, and movement around machinery
• Occasional climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
• Ability to work around moving mechanical equipment and vibration
• Exposure to manufacturing conditions including noise, fumes, airborne particles, humidity, and chemicals
• Ability to wear required PPE in a production environment
