The CNC Operator operates computer numerical control machines to fabricate parts. The CNC Operator loads parts in the machine, cycles machine and detects malfunctions in machine operations, such as worn or damaged cutting tools. The position runs production lots, communicates with co-workers regarding productions runs, and maintains a safe, organized and clean work environment.
Essential Functions
• Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to management
• Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures
• Regularly performs milling, turning, drilling, tapping, de-burring, sawing and sanding tasks
• Completes and maintains paperwork for parts
• Rework nonconforming inventory items
• Setup and operate CNC Lathe to make product to Prints specifications
• Must be willing and able to work Monday-Thursday from 5:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and overtime as needed
Qualifications
• Ability to read/understand written instructions (English language)
• Ability to read/understand technical drawings and specifications
• Mechanical skills (proper use of hand measuring tools, automated measuring devices)
• Ability to calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, depth and angle of cut.
Education & Experience
• High School Diploma or GED
• Min. of 3 years of experience setting up and running CNC Mill with 4 axis experience in Mill required
