Description

Position Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Duration: Full-time
Location: Rancho Dominguez, CA (Onsite)
Salary: $135,000 – $175,000 / year (depending on experience)

We are seeking a hands on Manufacturing Engineer to play a key role in advancing our internal machine shop capabilities and supporting the development and implementation of new manufacturing technologies. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, product development, and shop operations. You will work closely with our engineering team and leadership to bring new machines online, test and validate new capabilities, and improve manufacturing processes. A key part of this role is helping us build a “digital twin” of expert level manufacturing knowledge by capturing decades of hands on experience and translating it into structured
processes, documentation, and digital systems. The objective is to significantly reduce the skill barrier for complex setups, accelerate training, and enable a new model of manufacturing that is less dependent on hard to find expert machinists. This is a hands on role requiring both shop floor involvement and engineering analysis, with opportunities to influence product development, manufacturing strategy, and the future direction of our shop.

Who we are looking for / Requirements:

• BS or MS in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• 7 to 10+ years of experience in a CNC machining or manufacturing environment.
• Practical background in CNC machining processes, including mills and turning centers.
• Experience with CNC programming (G code) and CAM software.
• Proven ability to work hands on in a shop environment while also performing
engineering analysis and development work.
• Strong problem solving skills with the ability to identify and implement process
improvements.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work across engineering and shop teams.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with NX CAD and CAM or similar advanced systems.
• SolidWorks experience for fixture and mechanical design.
• Experience with multi axis machining including 4 axis, 5 axis, and mill turn systems.
• Exposure to automation and robotics in manufacturing environments.
• Experience working with or implementing AI tools in engineering or manufacturing
workflows.
• Experience in high mix, low volume or contract manufacturing environments.

Performance Objectives / What you'll be doing:

• Explore, evaluate, and apply AI tools and emerging technologies to improve engineering
productivity, knowledge capture, training, and manufacturing processes.
• Lead the introduction of new manufacturing technologies into the shop, including new
machine tools, controls, automation, robotics, advanced turning, and multi axis systems.
• Collaborate with engineering, software, and shop teams to develop and test real world
applications for TRAK machines and emerging manufacturing technologies.
• Work with engineering teams to identify and resolve product issues during machine and
feature development.
• Implement and validate new machine capabilities such as broaching, hobbing, advanced
machining features, and other process improvements that expand shop capability.
• Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs using CAM software and G code.
• Develop new shop methodologies for fixtures, workholding approaches that support
production, new product development, and faster adoption of new technologies.
• Collaborate with software and engineering teams to improve internal tools, including
defining enhancements to shop management systems such as the TRAK Dashboard and
Digital Job Folders.
• Support the integration of automation, robotics, and other advanced technologies into day
to day shop operations.
• Capture expert shop knowledge and translate it into standardized processes,
documentation, and digital systems to reduce setup complexity and training time.
• Work closely with machinists and engineers to troubleshoot issues and implement
practical, shop floor ready solutions.
