The Machinist will operate machine tools to fabricate and manufacture machine parts. Our client is a growing service-oriented company that provides machine shop, fabrication shop, and industrial services. They serve customers in many different industries including manufacturing, industrial, agricultural, commercial, and residential. We are seeking a Machinist with CNC and manual machining skills to join their team.
Qualifications:
- Must have 1+ year of experience programming and operating CNC and manual lathes and mills
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Vocational/technical school training or apprenticeship preferred
- Understanding of materials, cutting tools, speeds and feeds, and machining techniques
- Experience working with ferrous metals, non-ferrous metals, and plastics
- Detail oriented; attentive to accuracy, efficiency, and neatness
- Ability to lift 35+ pounds
- Prolonged periods of standing and bending required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Setup, operate, and program CNC lathes and mills
- Setup and operate manual lathes and mills
- Read and interpret shop drawings and design sketches to ensure proper dimensions and specifications for parts
- Select the appropriate cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials to be used on machines
- Prepare materials by means of saw cutting, surface grinding, sanding, and deburring
- Adjust speeds and feeds and machining techniques as deemed necessary
- Examine and measure completed units and parts to identify any defects and to ensure units conform with predetermined specifications; adjust machine controls to resolve production errors
- Modify machines to control speed, material feed, or path of cut as required to ensure a quality product is produced with specifications
- Inspect machinery for any needed repairs; performs minor repairs within expertise
- Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized workspace
- Comply with applicable safety standards and regulations
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Schedule:
- Monday-Thursday 6am-4:30pm, Fridays 6am-3:30pm
Pay:
- $20-$30/hour based on experience
