CNC Machinist – Structural Steel Fabrication
Location: Ashland, VA
Starting Pay: $20.00/hour — higher pay available based on experience
Schedule: 1st Shift
Position Overview
Seeking an experienced CNC Machinist with structural steel fabrication experience. This position operates CNC machinery used to produce steel components and requires strong blueprint-reading, machining, and troubleshooting skills.
What You’ll Do
- Set up and run CNC equipment, including combination mill/lathe and drill line machines.
- Review blueprints, schematics, and work orders to determine machining and fabrication requirements.
- Operate hand and power tools for machining and assembly work.
- Make machine adjustments to maintain production accuracy and performance.
- Inspect completed components for quality and compliance with specifications.
- Troubleshoot equipment problems and perform basic machine maintenance.
- Enter production information and maintain records in Global Shop (ERP).
- Work with the production team to maintain safe, efficient operations.
Requirements
- Structural steel fabrication experience is required.
- Hands-on experience operating CNC equipment, particularly combination mill/lathe and drill line machines.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical drawings.
- Proficiency using hand and power tools.
- Strong computer skills; Global Shop or another ERP system is preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and remain on your feet for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
