Description
Set up and operate 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machines according to work instructions, blueprints, and manufacturing plans.
Perform machine startups, tooling setups, offsets, and program adjustments as needed.
Inspect in-process and finished parts using precision measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, indicators, and CMMs.
Monitor product quality, replace worn tooling, and troubleshoot machining issues.
Complete production documentation and inspection records accurately.
Perform basic preventative maintenance and report equipment repair needs.
Follow all quality, safety, and production procedures.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve processes and support special projects.
Mentor less experienced machinists as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
3+ years of experience operating and setting up 3-axis and/or 5-axis CNC machines.
Experience with CNC machine controls and precision measuring tools.
Strong shop math skills, including geometry and fractions.
Basic computer skills.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Technical or trade school certification.
Knowledge of GD&T, G-Code/M-Code, and tool geometry.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift throughout the workday.
Regularly lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 55 pounds.
Ability to work safely around manufacturing equipment in a production environment.
