Build your future in precision machining with a close-knit team working out of Oak Lawn, IL on complex, custom metal parts. This CNC Machinist & Programmer opportunity offers immediate direct-hire openings on 2nd shift, with strong pay potential for hands-on setup, programming, and quality-focused work.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this CNC Machinist & Programmer position include:
- Several years of hands-on CNC machining experience, primarily with CNC mills (not just operator work).
- Ability to independently set up CNC milling machines, including tooling, offsets, and required machine adjustments.
- Strong blueprint reading skills and the ability to inspect your own work to verify dimensional accuracy and tolerances.
- Experience machining metal components in a professional manufacturing environment.
- Comfort working second shift (Monday–Thursday, 3:00 PM–1:30 AM), with optional Friday overtime and minimal shift overlap. Training my be on day shift.
- Ability to work independently on a busy custom shop producing small batches and one-of-a-kind parts.
- Preferred: Fusion 360 CAM experience and multi-axis milling exposure (3-axis, 4-axis, or 5-axis), including 4-axis/5-axis being highly desirable.
- Must meet U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent resident (green card) requirements for an ITAR environment and be able to commute onsite (no relocation assistance).
Salary: $21–$38 per hour, plus a $2/hour shift differential.
Benefits: Medical insurance through Aetna (three plan options, with the employer reportedly covering approximately 80% of medical costs), dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) with 3% company match, eight paid holidays, paid vacation, tuition reimbursement, and potential profit-sharing in the form of a bonus.
