CNC Machinist

Shift/Hours: Monday - Friday (Potential for full-time), first shift
Pay Range: $28-$32
Location: Omaha, NE 68137

CNC Machinist Job Duties and Requirements include:

  • Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine machining requirements.
  • Set up CNC lathe machines, including installing tooling, fixtures, and measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Program CNC lathes using G-code and M-code, ensuring accurate tool paths and machine operations.
  • Conduct precision measurements during machining using measurement tools like bore gauges, dial indicators, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
  • Troubleshoot machine issues, perform manual machining when necessary, and make necessary adjustments for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols related to machine operation, welding, grinding, and handling power tools.
  • Proven experience as a CNC Lathe Set Up Machinist or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages including G-code, M-code, and Fanuc controls.
  • Proficiency in reading mechanical blueprints and interpreting GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
  • Skilled in the use of machining tools such as grinders, calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other precision measuring instruments.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
  • Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks or other design tools is a plus.
  • Ability to operate manual machining equipment including lathes, mills, grinders, and power tools safely.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and quality inspection techniques for CNC machining products.
  • Valid certification or experience in electrical discharge machining (EDM), plastics injection molding or welding is advantageous but not required.
