We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist with expertise in Mastercam programming and operation of HAAS CNC machines to join our precision manufacturing team. This role is critical to producing high-tolerance components for the aerospace and defense industries, requiring a strong understanding of machining principles, quality standards, and CAD/CAM software.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program CNC machines using Mastercam for 3-axis and 5-axis milling operations.
- Set up and operate HAAS vertical and horizontal machining centers.
- Interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications.
- Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and machining strategies to optimize efficiency and precision.
- Perform in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and CMMs.
- Maintain tight tolerances and surface finishes per aerospace and defense standards.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and make real-time adjustments to programs and setups.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to ensure compliance with AS9100 and other relevant standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation of setups, tool lists, and inspection reports.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in machining processes and workflow.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a CNC Machinist in aerospace or defense manufacturing.
- Proficiency in Mastercam programming and post-processing for HAAS machines.
- Strong knowledge of HAAS controls and machine maintenance.
- Familiarity with aerospace materials (e.g., titanium, Inconel, aluminum alloys).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T.
- Experience with precision measuring instruments and inspection techniques.
- Understanding of AS9100, ITAR, and other industry-specific compliance requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
