Position Overview
Stand-By Personnel is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join a precision manufacturing team in Claremore. This position is responsible for producing high-quality machined components that meet customer specifications, engineering requirements, and strict quality standards. The role involves operating CNC equipment, setting up tooling, monitoring production, and inspecting finished parts used in aerospace, defense, and other precision manufacturing industries.
The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, safety-focused, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where precision and continuous improvement are essential.
Required Experience & Skills
High school diploma or GED required
CNC certification or a minimum of one year of CNC machining experience preferred
Strong mathematical skills, including fractions, decimals, measurements, and basic geometry
Ability to read and interpret work instructions, customer specifications, and technical documents
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to operate, monitor, and make basic adjustments to CNC machinery
Reliable attendance and willingness to learn and grow within a precision manufacturing environment
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Interpret customer specifications, engineering drawings, work instructions, and job requirements
Load, verify, and adjust CNC machine programs and specifications as required
Set up tooling, fixtures, and materials for CNC machining operations
Operate CNC machinery to manufacture precision components according to specifications
Monitor machining operations to ensure quality, efficiency, and dimensional accuracy
Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring tools and quality inspection procedures
Identify and report machining issues, tooling concerns, material defects, or quality discrepancies
Maintain accurate production and inspection records
Follow 5S principles to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area
Adhere to all company safety procedures, quality standards, and manufacturing protocols
Support a team-oriented production environment through effective communication and dependable work habits
Perform additional machining and production duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in aerospace, defense, or precision manufacturing environments
Experience performing machine setups and basic program adjustments
Familiarity with precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
Strong understanding of machining processes and quality inspection techniques
Physical Requirements
Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs
Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive movement throughout the shift
Ability to safely operate CNC machinery while wearing required PPE
Comfortable working in a precision manufacturing environment around industrial equipment and machinery
Work Environment
