Position Overview
Stand-By Personnel is seeking a detail-oriented CNC Machine Operator to join a precision manufacturing operation in Claremore. This position is responsible for operating CNC machinery to produce high-quality precision components according to customer specifications, engineering requirements, and established quality standards.
This role works with both CNC machine hardware and software to support the production of complex components used in aerospace, defense, and other precision manufacturing industries.
The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where accuracy, quality, and continuous improvement are essential.
Required Experience & Skills
High school diploma or equivalent required
CNC certification or a minimum of 1 year of CNC machine operating experience preferred
Above-average math skills, including measurements, decimals, fractions, and basic geometry
Ability to read and understand work instructions, customer specifications, drawings, and technical documents
Ability to operate, monitor, and make basic adjustments to CNC machinery
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to precision
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with supervisors, quality personnel, and production team members
Dependable attendance and ability to consistently follow established processes
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Operate CNC machinery to manufacture precision-machined components
Interpret customer specifications, work instructions, drawings, and job requirements
Load, enter, or verify machine specifications and program information as required
Set up tooling, fixtures, and materials for CNC machine operations
Monitor machining processes to ensure components are produced accurately and efficiently
Make basic machine adjustments as needed to maintain production requirements
Inspect parts throughout production using appropriate measuring tools and quality procedures
Verify finished components meet required dimensions and specifications
Identify and communicate machining issues, material concerns, tooling problems, and quality discrepancies
Maintain accurate production records and required documentation
Follow all company safety procedures, quality requirements, and manufacturing protocols
Maintain clean and organized work areas according to 5S principles
Support a team-oriented production environment through clear communication and dependable work habits
Perform additional machining and production duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
Previous CNC machine operating experience
CNC certification or technical manufacturing training
Precision machining or manufacturing experience
Aerospace or defense manufacturing experience
Experience using precision measuring instruments
Familiarity with CNC machine programs, tooling, fixtures, and basic machine adjustments
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and remain active for extended periods throughout the shift
Frequent walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive physical activity
Manual dexterity to safely operate CNC machinery, tooling, and measuring equipment
Ability to safely handle materials and machined components as required
Comfortable working around CNC machines, cutting tools, industrial equipment, and active production operations while wearing required PPE
Work Environment
Precision CNC machining and manufacturing facility
Production of complex components supporting aerospace, defense, and other precision industries
Regular interaction with CNC machinery, tooling, fixtures, measuring equipment, and production systems
