    STS Technical Services is hiring CNC Machinists in Brookfield, Wisconsin. These full-time positions support Trace-A-Matic, a precision manufacturing company focused on complex machined components for a wide range of industries.

    This role is ideal for experienced CNC Machinists with strong setup, operation, programming, blueprint reading, GD&T and inspection skills. Candidates should be comfortable working in a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing environment where quality, consistency and continuous improvement matter every day.

    Position Overview

    The CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up, operating and programming CNC machines to produce complex precision-machined components. This role requires the ability to run repeat jobs, validate first-piece parts, edit programs, inspect finished work and support production efficiency across multiple machines within a production cell.

    Trace-A-Matic is hiring for both 1st Shift and 2nd Shift CNC Machinist openings.

    Job Details

    • Job Title: CNC Machinist
    • Type: Full Time
    • Company: Trace-A-Matic
    • Location: Brookfield, Wisconsin
    • 1st Shift: Monday through Friday, 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM
    • 2nd Shift: Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM to 1:30 AM

    Essential Job Duties

    • Set up all repeat jobs that are fully documented while ensuring consistency and adherence to established procedures
    • Run first-piece parts to meet print specifications and validate setup accuracy
    • Program CNC machines and perform edits to optimize performance and part quality
    • Conduct manual inspections of parts using inspection sheets and established criteria
    • Read and interpret blueprints at a medium to high level
    • Apply inspection protocols and complete required documentation
    • Apply knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing to ensure precision and compliance with tolerances
    • Operate multiple machines simultaneously within a production cell to maximize efficiency
    • Utilize advanced shop math, including trigonometry and geometry, to support machining operations and problem-solving
    • Mentor and train operators to promote skill development and consistency in repetitive tasks
    • Perform additional duties as assigned to support production and team objectives

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or CNC technical diploma preferred
    • 5 or more years of machining experience
    • Mechanical interest and aptitude
    • Good math skills
    • Willingness to learn and grow
    • Experience setting up, operating and programming CNC machines
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
    • Working knowledge of GD&T
    • Ability to inspect parts and validate conformance to print specifications
    • Ability to support multiple machines within a production cell
