CNC Machining Operations Manager — Precision Shop & Metals Manufacturing

Step into operations leadership at the heart of the Upstate. We are hiring for two Operations Manager roles: one embedded in a precision machine shop and the other within a metals manufacturing plant. In both environments, you’ll tap deep machining expertise to guide teams, refine processes, and elevate performance across safety, quality, delivery, and cost.

A day in the role

• Lead daily huddles, align priorities, and remove roadblocks for production teams.
• Review CNC programs and tooling setups to optimize cycle times and part quality.
• Partner with maintenance to strengthen equipment reliability and minimize downtime through planned PM.
• Track KPIs, drive root-cause problem solving, and implement changes that boost productivity and quality.
• Champion Lean Manufacturing: run kaizen events, standardize work, and sustain continuous improvement.
• Ensure SOPs are followed and refined; uphold workplace safety and EHS best practices.
• Coordinate with planning via ERP/MRP to lock in material flow, capacity, and on-time performance.

What you’ll bring

• Proven experience leading teams in manufacturing or plant operations.
• Strong command of CNC machining, tooling, and production processes.
• Ownership of machine maintenance strategies, equipment reliability, and downtime reduction.
• A record of improving productivity, quality, and overall operational performance.
• Hands-on Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement experience.
