Join Our Turning Team in Tonawanda, NY
Picture your first week: you power up a Fanuc-controlled lathe, verify tooling offsets, load a proven program, then fine‑tune feeds and speeds to hit a mirror finish on a hydraulic piston. You review the blueprint, interpret GD&T callouts, and validate size with micrometers and bore gauges. When a fixture squeaks, you diagnose and correct the minor mechanical issue, keeping production moving and quality tight.
What You’ll Do
- Set up, operate, and optimize CNC lathes to produce precision-turned components.
- Edit programs at the control using Fanuc and G/M code to achieve target tolerances and finishes.
- Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T to plan machining strategy and in-process checks.
- Calculate feeds/speeds and perform shop math, including metric conversions.
- Use micrometers, dial indicators, bore gauges, and other metrology tools for advanced inspection.
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor equipment/fixturing issues; perform routine maintenance.
- Handle basic computer tasks, including file transfers for programs and tooling data.
