Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Set-Up / Operator to join a precision machining team in Owasso. This position is responsible for independently setting up, operating, and maintaining Mazak CNC lathes in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate has strong Mazatrol programming experience, excellent machining knowledge, and the ability to work with minimal supervision while consistently producing high-quality precision components.



Required Experience & Skills
• 2–5+ years of experience operating Mazak CNC lathes
• Hands-on experience with Mazatrol programming and/or G-code editing
• Strong machine setup skills, including tooling, fixtures, and work offsets
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and engineering drawings
• Knowledge of machining speeds, feeds, tooling selection, and material characteristics
• Proficiency using precision inspection tools including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and other measuring equipment
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
• High school diploma or GED required



Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Set up and operate Mazak CNC lathes including QT, Nexus, Integrex, or similar models
• Load raw materials and install tooling, fixtures, and workholding components
• Set and verify tool offsets, work offsets, and machine parameters
• Monitor machine performance to maintain production efficiency and part quality
• Edit Mazatrol and/or G-code programs at the machine as needed
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and GD&T specifications
• Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring instruments
• Troubleshoot machine issues, tooling problems, and production concerns
• Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and lubrication of CNC equipment
• Complete production records and inspection documentation accurately
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all company safety procedures



Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with multi-axis or live tooling Mazak machines
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality systems
• Experience using SPC, ERP systems, or job tracking software
• Forklift certification or experience
• Technical or vocational machining education



Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Ability to stand for 8–10 hours per shift
• Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and repetitive movements
• Comfortable working around industrial machinery, coolant, and manufacturing equipment while wearing required PPE
