Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Operator to join our team in Owasso, OK. This position is responsible for independently setting up, operating, and maintaining Mazak CNC lathes in a precision machining environment supporting high-mix, low-volume production. The ideal candidate has strong Mazatrol experience, excellent setup skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision while producing high-quality parts.
Required Experience & Skills
2 5+ years of experience operating Mazak CNC lathes
Hands-on experience with Mazatrol programming and/or G-code editing
Strong setup skills including tooling, fixtures, work offsets, and part alignment
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and machining documentation
Knowledge of speeds, feeds, tooling, and material behavior
Proficiency with precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, and gauges
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
High school diploma or GED required
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic REQUIRED
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Independently set up and operate Mazak CNC lathes including QT, Nexus, Integrex, or similar models
Load raw materials and install tooling, fixtures, and workholding components
Set and verify tool offsets, work offsets, and machine parameters for production runs
Monitor machine performance to ensure efficiency and part quality
Edit Mazatrol programs and G-code at the machine when necessary
Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and GD&T specifications
Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring instruments
Troubleshoot machine issues, tooling problems, and production concerns
Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and lubrication of equipment
Maintain accurate production records and inspection documentation
Follow all safety procedures while maintaining a clean and organized work environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with multi-axis or live-tooling Mazak machines
Familiarity with ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality systems
Experience with SPC, ERP systems, or production tracking software
Forklift certification or experience
Technical or vocational machining education
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift
Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive movement while operating machinery
Comfortable working around industrial equipment, coolant, and machining operations
Work Environment
Precision machining facility supporting high-mix, low-volume manufacturing
Exposure to machinery, cutting fluids, metal chips, and production noise
Fast-paced environment requiring strict attention to quality and safety
PPE required while working on the shop floor
