Role Overview
Direct-hire CNC role in Santa Ana, CA focused on precision machining, in-process verification, and problem-solving in a dynamic job shop.
Core Duties
- Operate manual and CNC lathes, milling machines, and grinders to meet print specifications.
- Execute complete setups and changeovers, including tooling selection, fixture alignment, and offsets.
- Measure, examine, and test completed parts using micrometers, vernier calipers, and attribute gages.
- Monitor feeds/speeds and machine performance to maintain accuracy, finish, and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot process issues by assessing materials, events, and environmental inputs.
- Inspect equipment and materials to identify root causes of errors or defects and apply corrective action.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and determine scope/timing for additional service.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of machine operator experience in a job shop setting.
- Proficient in CNC machine setup and changeover.
- Experience machining brass alloys.
- Fluency with gauges, dials, and indicators to validate machine health and process stability.
- Applied math proficiency: arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics.
- Experience conducting tests and inspections to evaluate product and process quality.
- Knowledge of machines and tools, their design, use, repair, and basic upkeep.
- Understanding of raw materials, production processes, and quality control principles.
- Ability to set up, adjust, and run basic to advanced tooling for precision operations.
- Skill in aligning/securing fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials.
- Proven capability to identify nonconforming items and define corrective measures.
Work Details
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 PM–5:30 AM
- Compensation: Up to $35.00 per hour, DOE
- Location: Santa Ana, CA (Direct Hire)
