CNC Lathe Machinist - Setup - 1st Shift

We seek an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist with a minimum of 5+years' manufacturing or equivalent experience, to produce machined parts by setting up and operating a Fanuc control CNC Lathe (this is not an entry level position) . Proficiency using precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, gauge pins, bore gauges, and other appropriate inspection tools.

CNC Lathe Machinist Job Description

We seek an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist with a minimum of 5+years' manufacturing or equivalent experience, to produce machined parts by setting up and operating a Fanuc control CNC Lathe (this is not an entry level position). 

This is a hands-on position for a skilled CNC Lathe Machinist who can independently:

1. Set up and Operate CNC lathes

2. Write and Edit programs at the machine control

3. Manage tooling, work holding, and offsets, 

4. Inspect finished parts and identify and correct machining issues.

5. Demonstrated machining ability6. Provide sound judgment, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills 

Pay range:$29.00/hour to $36.00/hour DOE

CNC Lathe Machinist Requirements:

• Shift:      7:00 am to 3:30 pm 
• Experienced in setting up and operating Doosan and DN Solutions CNC lathes with Fanuc controls.
• Ability to write, edit, and adjust CNC programs at the machine control, including making changes for drawing revisions or job requirements.
• Ability to set work and tool offsets, adjust wear offsets, install tooling, and set up work holding, including cutting jaws as needed.
• Ability to read and interpret part drawings, dimensions, tolerances, surface-finish requirements, and GD&T.
• Experience producing precision parts to required specifications and tolerances, commonly around .001" and occasionally as close as .0005".
• Proficiency using precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, gauge pins, bore gauges, and other appropriate inspection tools.
• Working knowledge of practical machining math, speeds and feeds, and the ability to make adjustments based on the work being performed.
• Experience with high-mix, low-volume or job-shop machining environments.
• Ability to verify first-run parts, inspect cutting tools and inserts, and make appropriate adjustments or replacements to maintain part quality.
• Ability to identify machining or quality issues and make appropriate corrections as needed.
• Experience uploading and downloading CNC programs to and from a program server.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
• Ability to maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.

Requirements:

• Previous CNC lathe machining and setup experience with a minimum of 5+years' manufacturing or equivalent experience to sufficiently to perform the position independently.
• Ability to read and interpret part drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and surface-finish requirements.
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, gauge pins, bore gauges, and other appropriate measuring tools.
• Working knowledge of practical machining math.

Preferred Experience

• Doosan and DN Solutions CNC lathes with Fanuc controls.
• High-mix, low-volume or job-shop machining.
• GD&T knowledge and experience.

Compensation details: 29-36 Hourly Wage
