Job Duties

• Operate a CNC laser cutting machine and other production equipment, or assist machine operators.
• Select and set up lenses for the material type and thickness, load programs, and set machine parameters.
• Use appropriate shield gases during laser cutting operations.
• Assemble parts as directed by the shift leader or floor supervisor.
• Assist with bending, punching, or sawing metal products as assigned.
• Inspect work closely and adjust to changing production priorities.
• Prepare finished products for shipment.
• Move raw materials, finished products, and packed items manually or with a forklift.
• Keep the work area clean and organized.
• Work with teammates to meet production and quality goals.
• Follow company policies, safety rules, quality standards, and applicable ISO and OSHA requirements.

Requirements

• Mechanical aptitude and experience in a mechanical or machinery-based role; training is available for the right candidate.
• Ability to read blueprints and use measurements accurately, including fractions and decimals.
• Ability to distinguish among aluminum, steel, stainless steel, copper, and brass.
• Ability to lift heavy items using safe lifting techniques.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work well with a team in a busy production environment.
• Experience with sheet metal, tooling and tooling maintenance, or Trumpf, Amada, or a similar CNC laser cutting machine is preferred.
• A high school diploma or GED and one year of CNC laser cutting experience are also preferred.

What You Will Do

As a CNC Laser Operator you will set up, operate, monitor, and adjust CNC machining equipment to manufacture precision components according to engineering specifications. You will verify machine setups, inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments, troubleshoot machining issues, maintain tooling, and support quality and production goals while following established safety and manufacturing procedures.

A CNC Laser Operator combines machining knowledge with computer-controlled manufacturing technology to produce precision components safely and efficiently. This role requires technical ability, mathematical understanding, and a commitment to maintaining exact specifications.

The CNC Laser Operator supports production through accurate machine operation, tooling management, dimensional inspection, and process monitoring while maintaining quality and workplace safety. Strong troubleshooting skills contribute to efficient operations.
