In Hillsboro, OR, you’ll join a tight-knit manufacturing team using modern CNC technology to produce precise, high-quality components. As an early-career CNC/CAM Programming Technologist, you’ll grow your craft in a collaborative setting where accuracy, learning, and teamwork matter.
Morning: Turn blueprints into motion
- Study engineering drawings and apply GD&T to plan accurate machining strategies.
- Build CAM toolpaths and generate clean, efficient G-code for CNC mills (3–4 axis VMC).
- Coordinate with engineers to dial in feeds, speeds, and workholding for first runs.
Midday: Keep production moving
- Perform CNC setups and changeovers to transition between production runs smoothly.
- Troubleshoot tooling or machine issues quickly to minimize downtime.
- Jump in on manual machining when needed to support throughput.
Afternoon: Verify and improve
- Validate parts using precision measurement and hand metrology tools to confirm specs.
- Refine programs and setups based on inspection feedback.
- Maintain an orderly, safe work area and follow all shop safety protocols.
What you bring
- Proficiency in CNC programming and G-code.
- Understanding of CNC tooling plus setup/changeover practices.
- Experience reading blueprints with GD&T.
- Solid troubleshooting ability for CNC machinery and tooling.
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM software.
- Hands-on skill with precision measurement and hand metrology.
- Manual machining experience is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, quality focus, and a collaborative mindset.
