Position Summary

Under the direction of licensed nursing personnel, the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct and indirect resident care within the scope of practice defined by New York State Nurse Aide Certification. CNAs play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life, dignity, comfort, and safety of our residents.

Essential Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility
• Observe residents and promptly report changes in condition to nursing staff
• Assist with meals, hydration, and nutritional support
• Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable living environment
• Support resident independence while promoting dignity and respect
• Accurately document care provided
• Build positive relationships with residents, families, and coworkers
• Contribute to a culture of teamwork, compassion, and excellence in care

Qualifications

Required

• Current New York State Nurse Aide Certification
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively within a team
• BLS certification through RQI during clinical orientation

Preferred

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous Certified Nursing Assistant experience
• Long-Term Care (LTC) experience
