    Overview
    Our client will be hiring a CMM Technician to support a high-volume production of small, injection molded metal components by creating, qualifying, and implementing measurement processes. You will also provide support for engineering development and manufacturing.

    Responsibilities:

    • Review new product designs and recommend the best measurement processes. This will include a variety of tools including simple hand tools, custom fixtures, visual inspection systems and CMMs.
    • Create the measurement processes for these new designs, then carefully evaluate them to ensure that they are accurate, repeatable and practical for use in a production environment.
    • Complete new product qualification activity, including First Article Inspection, GR&R, and capability studies.
    • Support production and QA activities to move production efficiently and disposition problem material effectively. This includes troubleshooting CMM programs, helping to disposition material, and continuously improving measurement procedures.

    Qualifications:

    • 3 years as a CMM Tech in a high volume manufacturing environment
    • Proficiency in programming and operating CMMs (OPG, Zeiss, Mitutoyo) using software such as Zone3, PC-DMIS, Calypso, or similar.
    • Strong understanding of GD&T (ASME Y14.5), blueprint reading, and dimensional metrology.
    • Experience with gage R&R studies.
    • Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC).
    • Ability to wear a bump cap, hearing protection, safety glasses, and safety-toed shoes.
    • Experience with molded metal components a plus.
