What You’ll DoMinimum Requirements/Qualifications Necessary:
  • Program the Zeiss CMM using Calypso software to support first piece, in-process, and final inspection requirements.
  • Operate and maintain the Zeiss CMM, Faro arm, vision system, optical comparators, and other inspection equipment, ensuring accuracy and consistent performance.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and escalate promptly to minimize downtime
  • Perform inspection on first piece, in-process, purchased part, incoming materials, and finished products, ensuring conformance to specifications.
  • Use hand measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, height gages, and similar equipment) to verify part conformance.
  • Analyze and interpret blueprints and travelers, including noted specifications and GD&T requirements, to develop CMM programs and determine inspection requirements.
  • Complete and proofread required records and paperwork, including AS9102 first article inspection forms, inspection reports, Certificates of Conformance (COCs), damage reports, return reports, and re-work orders.
  • Test finished products for paint and plating quality and thickness, dimensions, profile, and appearance.
  • Identify and flag nonconformances to the Inspection Supervisor and support root cause investigation as needed.
  • Communicate inspection status, program development timelines, delays, and quality concerns to the Inspection Supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Maintain organized, accurate, and up-to-date CMM programs, inspection records, and documentation.
  • Follow established inspection plans and methods; escalate unclear or missing inspection instructions rather than making undocumented judgment calls.
  • Participate in in-house calibration of inspection gages and equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized inspection area and properly care for and store gages, fixtures, and measuring equipment.
  • Train and cross-train other quality technicians on CMM programming and operation to build backup coverage and reduce single-person dependency.
  • Support process improvement efforts by flagging recurring issues or opportunities to the Inspection Supervisor.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of procedures and controls to promote efficient, lean operations, and follow those procedures and controls consistently.
  • Able to multi-task across several jobs at varying stages of inspection and programming.
  • Able to work overtime when requested to meet the needs of customer timelines.
  • Comply with all quality, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Recognize, report, and correct errors.
  • Support the company's quality policy, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, 5S practices, LEAN and world class manufacturing initiatives.
  • Commit to the corporate goals, mission, and vision.
  • Regular physical attendance is required.
  • Travel, as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • U.S. citizenship is required for this position based on applicable government contract and customer access requirements.
Preferred Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Formal training or certification in Zeiss CMM operation and Calypso programming.
  • Faro arm and vision system programming/operation experience.
  • Experience with AS9102 first article inspection forms.
  • Prior experience working with aerospace, defense, or medical industries.
  • Prior machining or CNC/contract machining operation exposure.
  • Experience working in a job shop manufacturing environment.
