Position Details

  • Job Title: CMM Operator
  • Location: Mountain Home, PA 18326
  • Job Type: Full-Time Consultant (9-Month Contract)
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-4:30 PM
  • Pay Rate: $28.00 per hour
  • Overtime: Available and may be mandatory based on business needs

Your Impact

As a CMM Operator, you will play a critical role in ensuring that precision-manufactured components meet stringent quality requirements. Your expertise in coordinate measuring machine programming, dimensional inspection, and quality documentation will help maintain the exceptional standards required within the aviation industry.

What You'll Do

  • Set up, program, and operate CMM equipment to perform first-article, in-process, and final inspections.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, CAD models, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) requirements.
  • Create, modify, optimize, and troubleshoot CMM programs, including Calypso and similar software platforms.
  • Perform dimensional inspections using micrometers, calipers, height gages, optical comparators, and other precision measuring instruments.
  • Document inspection results and generate quality reports, FAIRs, and customer-required documentation.
  • Identify, document, and communicate nonconformances to quality, engineering, and production teams.
  • Support root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain calibration records and ensure compliance with established quality systems and safety procedures.
  • Assist in training operators and inspectors on measurement techniques, print reading, and inspection best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of hands-on CMM programming experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Experience using precision measurement and inspection equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in aerospace, aviation, defense, automotive, or precision machining environments.
  • Knowledge of FAIRs, PPAPs, and AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality standards.
  • Experience working with Calypso or similar CMM programming software.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality documentation systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Pay Details: $28.00 per hour
