We believe everyone deserves the opportunity to live a fulfilling and independent life. We are seeking compassionate, reliable and motivated individuals to join our team as Community Living Support Life Skills (CLS) Coach/Mentors.
As a CLS Mentor, you'll work in groups with individuals with disabilities, helping foster positive community involvement, planning personalized goals, and helping them develop greater independence. Whether you are supporting someone during a community outing, teaching daily living skills, or simply being a positive role model, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in someone's life! No prior experience is necessary. We provide paid training and ongoing support.
Summary of essential job functions
- Build positive relationships with individuals and their families.
- Support individuals in developing life skills that increase independence and improve quality of life
- Assist individuals in working toward goals identified through Person-Centered Planning
- Encourage community involvement and participation in meaningful activities
- Follow supervision guidelines established by CMH or Network 180
- Implement therapy, behavior, and dietary plans as directed by agency professionals
- Safely transport individuals to and from community activities using your personal vehicle
- Maintain accurate documentation through our online systems and required reports
- Assist with personal care needs, including feeding, dressing, and restroom assistance when needed
- Serve as a positive role model, advocate, and mentor
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum requirements
- Be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Valid Driver's license, acceptable driving record, and proof of car insurance.
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Must demonstrate a passionate interest for helping people with disabilities
- Must be mature, reliable, and honest
- Must demonstrate strong communication and relationship building skills and be able to work well with little supervision
- Must have a flexible schedule
Position Information:
Job Type: Part Time or Full Time (Hourly)
Pay: Starting wages of $13.73 plus state premium of $3.40 (subject to change with state funding and budget changes)
Reports to: CLS Manager
Benefits: If Full Time, benefits include paid time off, health/dental/vision insurance, short term disability and life insurance.
