Our client is a global organization with a large-scale technology environment supporting critical enterprise systems and cloud infrastructure. Their technology teams operate across modern cloud and on-premises environments, with a strong focus on platform reliability, scalability, security and automation.

Description

The Systems Admin will join a global technology team responsible for supporting enterprise infrastructure across cloud and on-premises environments. This is not a traditional Linux Administrator position. The successful candidate will combine strong Linux expertise with hands-on cloud infrastructure, scripting and automation capabilities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Administer, maintain and support enterprise cloud and on-premises infrastructure
  • Install software releases, system upgrades, patches and security updates
  • Monitor system health, performance and configurations to maintain stability and data integrity
  • Perform backups, disaster recovery activities and recovery testing
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure, operating system and application-related issues
  • Support Linux-based environments and associated infrastructure services
  • Develop automation, scripting and infrastructure management solutions
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures and runbooks
  • Work with engineering and operations teams to improve platform reliability, scalability and security
  • Participate in on-call support and incident response when required

Profile

The successful candidate will have strong Linux administration experience alongside hands-on exposure to enterprise cloud infrastructure. You should be comfortable working across cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure or GCP, with scripting or coding experience using Python, Bash, Shell or similar technologies.

Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation, containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes, and multi-cloud or cloud-agnostic environments would be highly advantageous.

Candidates should also bring:

  • Strong infrastructure and systems troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of networking, servers, operating systems and platform technologies
  • An automation-focused approach to infrastructure management
  • Strong operational documentation skills
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • A cloud-first mindset combined with strong Linux fundamentals

Location & Hybrid Working: This is a hybrid Manhattan-based position requiring approximately 40% onsite attendance per month, typically 2 days per week. The majority of onsite work will be in the Downtown Manhattan Financial District office, with flexibility required to work occasionally from a Midtown location near Central Park. Candidates must be comfortable commuting to both locations.

Initial 6-month contract, with potential for extension and/or conversion to a permanent position
