Cloud Platform Engineer (Remote, USA)

We are looking for a Cloud Platform Engineer for a global high-tech company to support the clients' Cloud Platform Engineering (CCP) on prem platform initiative. In this role, you will augment the existing engineering team responsible for delivering, validating, maintaining, and automating the deployment of CCP infrastructure and platform services within highly secure, disconnected customer environments.

This is a 9 month contract (possible extensions), 40 hours per week, remote role in the USA.

This is a W2 role as a Stage 4 Solutions employee. Health benefits and 401K are offered.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and maintain VMware vSphere/ESXi environments supporting the clients' cloud platform.
• Support CCP platform packaging, delivery, installation, and lifecycle management for SilverCreek deployments.
• Develop and maintain Terraform based infrastructure automation and Git based CI/CD pipelines.
• Automate provisioning workflows through Morpheus or equivalent cloud management platforms.
• Design and support software delivery into air gapped or highly restricted environments.
• Manage private package repositories, image registries, and artifact distribution processes.
• Support Linux infrastructure and Kubernetes platform services, including Helm package management.
• Troubleshoot networking, storage, and virtualization issues; conduct operational readiness reviews.

Requirements

• 5+ years of infrastructure or platform engineering experience.
• Deep hands on expertise with VMware vSphere/ESXi, vCenter, Terraform, Linux administration, and Kubernetes ecosystems.
• Experience with infrastructure automation, CI/CD, and GitOps workflows.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem solving abilities in regulated or security sensitive environments.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with platform engineering teams.

Compensation: $40/hr. - $41.34/hr. on W2
