Cloud Platform Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Migrate and support mission-critical database environments across on-premises and AWS cloud platforms.
• Administer, perform performance tuning, ensure security, backup and recovery, and manage high availability and automation of PostgreSQL databases.
• Work closely with application teams, infrastructure teams, cloud architects, and project stakeholders.
• Implement and manage PostgreSQL backup and recovery solutions.
• Design and support highly available PostgreSQL architectures across on-premises and AWS cloud environments.
• Administer Amazon RDS PostgreSQL, Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL, and EC2-hosted PostgreSQL environments.
• Execute end-to-end migration activities including assessment, planning, testing, cutover, validation, and post-migration support.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 12 years of Database Administration experience.
• Minimum 8 years of PostgreSQL Database Administration experience.
• Minimum 5 years of AWS cloud database administration experience.
• Strong experience managing mission-critical production databases.
• Proven experience with PostgreSQL upgrades, migrations, and performance tuning.
• AWS Certified Database Specialty and AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate/Professional.
• PostgreSQL Professional Certification.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Enterprise Monitoring tools.
• Experience supporting large-scale utility, financial, or regulated environments.
• Experience with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes and containerized PostgreSQL environments.
• Experience with pgBouncer, Pgpool-II, Patroni, or similar PostgreSQL HA solutions.
