Cloud Engineer
Location: New York, USA
Work model: Day-one onsite; hybrid with 3 days onsite per week.

Rate : $62-$65/hr
Role overview
Serve as the hands-on technical lead for cloud migration implementation across infrastructure, application deployment, automation, and operational readiness. Work with architects and engineering teams to execute the approved migration approach and resolve complex delivery issues.
Experience
8+ years in software, infrastructure, or platform engineering; 5+ years of hands-on AWS engineering.
Required qualifications
- Demonstrated delivery of cloud migration, modernization, and application remediation initiatives.
- Strong expertise in Infrastructure as Code, automation, CI/CD, monitoring, observability, and production support.
- Experience supporting critical enterprise applications in complex environments.
- AWS certifications preferred.
Key responsibilities
- Lead implementation of AWS infrastructure and platform components across development, QA, performance, production, and HA/DR environments.
- Coordinate builds covering landing zones, EKS, S3/KMS, approved Redis services, RabbitMQ, and other components required by the approved design.
- Lead infrastructure automation and deployment pipeline implementation, working with DevOps teams on the move from CircleCI to TeamCity/TRAIN and approved repository/package controls.
- Guide application migration and remediation, including container configuration, health/readiness checks, service configuration, and post-deployment verification.
- Coordinate security remediation with IAM, network, and cyber teams, including permissions, network controls, and operating-system updates.
- Lead engineering troubleshooting, environment readiness, recovery testing, cutover support, stabilization, and approved legacy decommissioning.
- Work with application teams to improve performance, reliability, security, and supportability.
Expected deliverables
- Implemented and validated platform components and automation.
- Environment readiness and engineering test evidence.
- Deployment, rollback, and operational runbooks; engineering handover.
Desired qualifications
- Experience leading hands-on AWS migration teams in banking or other regulated enterprises.
- Depth in EKS/Kubernetes, infrastructure automation, container deployment, and production troubleshooting.
- Experience with enterprise CI/CD controls, HA/DR testing, cutover, and operational handover.
