Cloud Engineer – Data Governance Lead
Location: Irving, TX – Hybrid (3 days onsite)
Duration: 3months+
Role Overview
Seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer / Data Governance Lead to drive enterprise data governance across Databricks, Unity Catalog, and Snowflake. The candidate will lead governance strategy while remaining hands-on with data security, quality, metadata, lineage, and controls.
Must-Have Skills
10+ years in data governance, data management, data engineering, or related areas
5+ years leading enterprise data governance programs
Strong hands-on experience with Databricks & Unity Catalog
Strong Snowflake and advanced SQL experience
Data quality, metadata, lineage, and data catalog experience
Data security, RBAC, access controls, masking, and compliance
Experience with PySpark/Python and governance automation
Strong stakeholder management and executive communication
Experience working with Agile, Engineering, DevOps, Security, Risk, and Compliance teams
Key Responsibilities
Define and execute enterprise data governance strategy and operating model
Implement and administer Unity Catalog and Snowflake governance
Establish data ownership, stewardship, metadata, lineage, and quality standards
Implement security, privacy, access, and compliance controls
Develop data quality monitoring and governance KPIs
Partner with engineering, security, DevOps, and business teams
Support audits, risk assessments, remediation, and executive reporting
