Cloud Engineer 3

Aquinas Consulting is currently looking to fill a Cloud Engineer III job in Providence, RI. This DIRECT HIRE job is available with one of our key customers in the healthcare industry. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex public and private cloud infrastructure with a focus on performance, security, scalability, automation, and reliability. In order to be successful in this position, you must have 10 or more years of industry experience and advanced expertise with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, along with strong cloud architecture, automation, and security skills. Preference will be given to someone with large enterprise experience, advanced cloud certification, project leadership experience, and the ability to mentor other cloud engineers.

Cloud Engineer III Job responsibilities:

• Develop and implement comprehensive cloud strategies that align with organizational goals and business objectives.

• Design and oversee the architecture of complex cloud solutions, ensuring scalability, reliability, security, and performance.

• Develop and enforce security policies and compliance measures to protect cloud infrastructure and ensure adherence to industry standards and regulations.

• Continuously optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, cost-efficiency, scalability, and security.

• Create and manage advanced automation scripts for the deployment, management, and scaling of cloud resources.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate cloud solutions that support business objectives and enterprise requirements.

• Design and implement robust disaster recovery and backup strategies to ensure cloud resilience and business continuity.

• Stay current with the latest cloud technologies and trends and identify opportunities to drive innovation across the organization.

• Lead large-scale cloud projects, coordinating with technical teams and stakeholders to ensure successful implementation.

• Mentor and guide junior and mid-level cloud engineers, providing technical expertise and fostering continuous learning and improvement.

• Create and maintain detailed documentation of cloud architectures, configurations, processes, and best practices.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma required; a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is strongly preferred.

• 10 or more years of industry experience, preferably within a large enterprise environment, with extensive experience as a Cloud Engineer in advanced-level responsibilities.

• Advanced certification in one of the major cloud platforms is required, with mastery of AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

• Deep understanding of cloud architecture, automation tools, infrastructure performance, scalability, security, and compliance best practices.

• Strong leadership, problem-solving, communication, and project management skills, with the ability to lead complex cloud initiatives and collaborate across teams.
