Recent milestones include:
The acquisition of Zenoss to create a unified observability platform combining deep infrastructure analytics, AI-driven event intelligence, and service-level visibility
Launching AI Factory Observability (AIFO) to meet the demanding visibility, performance, cost, and risk challenges of AI infrastructure, including tight integration with GPU workloads and modern hybrid environments

MISSION & WHAT WE BELIEVE:
Virtana's mission is to empower IT, operations, and platform engineering teams to see everything, understand everything, and act with confidence, especially in complex, hybrid, and AI-intensive environments. The company believes:
Observability isn't optional in modern infrastructure; it's foundational
Deep, correlated visibility (across computing, storage, network, service/app dependencies, AI workloads) drives better performance, cost efficiency, and risk mitigation
AI/ML, topology mapping, event intelligence, root cause analysis, and cost forecasting are essential differentiators
Customers want not just metrics, but insight, predictability, and control
ROLE OVERVIEW:
Virtana is seeking a Cloud DevOps Engineer to help build, automate, and operate the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure that runs the Virtana Platform. You will join our Cloud DevOps team and own infrastructure as code with Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes (GKE) operations, and observability for our SaaS environments. You will work closely with product engineering, QA, and security to deliver reliable, secure, and cost-efficient releases, and to keep improving how we build and ship software
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design, build, and maintain GCP infrastructure (GKE, Compute Engine, Cloud SQL, Cloud Storage, VPC, IAM, Cloud Load Balancing) using Terraform as the standard for infrastructure as code
Develop and maintain reusable Terraform modules, manage remote state, and enforce code review, testing, and drift detection for all infrastructure changes
Build and improve CI/CD pipelines for build, test, and release automation across product engineering teams
Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting (Cloud Monitoring/Logging, Prometheus, Grafana) to ensure the availability and performance of production environments
Participate in the on-call rotation, lead incident response and root cause analysis, and drive remediation to prevent recurrence
Apply security best practices across the cloud environment, including least-privilege IAM, secrets management, network policies, and vulnerability remediation, in support of SOC 2 compliance
Track and optimize cloud spend through rightsizing, committed-use planning, and resource hygiene
Automate repetitive operational tasks with scripting (Python, Bash, or Go) and configuration management tools
Partner with development and QA teams to define release pipelines, environments, and test frameworks
Document architecture, runbooks, and standard operating procedures
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
At least 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability, or Cloud Infrastructure Engineering
Terraform: Strong, hands-on experience writing and maintaining production Terraform, including modules, remote state, workspaces, and CI-driven plan/apply workflows
Google Cloud Platform: Hands-on experience designing and operating production workloads on GCP, including GKE, IAM, VPC networking, Cloud SQL, and Cloud Storage
Solid experience with containers (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes), including Helm
Experience building CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar)
Deep knowledge of Git and branching/release workflows
Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python, Bash, or Go)
Understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, load balancing, TCP/IP, firewalls, VPN)
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
NICE TO HAVE:
Google Cloud Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer or Professional Cloud Architect certification
Experience with AWS or Azure in a multi-cloud or hybrid environment
Experience with configuration management (Ansible, Puppet, or similar)
Experience with policy as code and security scanning (OPA, Checkov, tfsec, Trivy)
Familiarity with SOC 2 or similar compliance frameworks
Experience supporting SaaS observability or monitoring products
WHY JOIN VIRTANA?
Opportunity to shape the cloud platform that powers our SaaS products
Work in an innovative, collaborative, and flexible environment
Competitive compensation and equity opportunities
