Your Role
Akkodis is seeking a Cloud Architect for a Contract with a client in Dearborn, MI (Hybrid). The ideal candidate is responsible for architecting virtualization solutions, driving capacity planning, troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues, and implementing automation to improve platform reliability and operational efficiency.
Rate Range: $60/Hour to $70/Hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Cloud Architect Job Responsibilities include:
Architect, deploy, and administer VMware and OpenShift Virtualization (OSV) solutions to support global enterprise hosting requirements.
Lead capacity planning, forecasting, and optimization of compute, storage, memory, and network resources to ensure scalable and reliable infrastructure.
Develop and implement automation solutions, scripts, and playbooks to streamline virtualization operations and improve service efficiency.
Monitor platform health, performance, and security, conducting root cause analysis (RCA) and driving rapid issue resolution across global environments.
Design and maintain observability, logging, and monitoring solutions using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace, and related platforms.
Collaborate with application teams and stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable virtualization solutions while maintaining lifecycle management, documentation, and operational best practices.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.
10+ years of IT experience, including 8+ years in infrastructure engineering, virtualization, automation, or platform development.
Strong hands-on expertise with VMware, Kubernetes/OpenShift Virtualization, Linux administration, and scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python.
Proven experience in capacity planning, automation, root cause analysis, observability, and managing large-scale enterprise virtualization environments.

Pay Details: $60.00 to $70.00 per hour
