    Description

At Honest Eatery, we believe in real food, real people, and a real commitment to our Salt Lake City community. We are looking for a dedicated, high-energy Closing Shift Manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in "leaving it better than they found it."

As the Closing Shift Lead, you aren't just a supervisor—you are the General Manager’s right hand. You own the evening operations, ensuring the store finishes strong, the team stays motivated, and our standards never waver.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Operational Excellence: Lead the evening team to ensure the shop is clean, organized, and fully prepped for the following day.
    • Team Development: Act as a coach on the floor. You’ll train new hires, provide real-time feedback, and foster a positive, high-performance culture.
    • Financial Stewardship: Monitor and manage labor costs by adjusting staffing levels based on real-time volume. Assist in tracking food costs through portion control and waste management.
    • Inventory & Ordering: Maintain accurate evening inventory counts and communicate stock needs to the GM to ensure we never run out of the essentials.
    • The Guest Experience: Lead by example in guest service. You are the final point of contact for our community each day, ensuring every bowl and toast served is perfect.
    • Food Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict health and safety standards. You are responsible for ensuring all closing temp logs and sanitation checklists are completed flawlessly.

    What We’re Looking For:

Experience | 1+ years of leadership experience in a fast-casual or high-volume restaurant.

Reliability | A consistent closer who takes ownership of the shop’s security and cleanliness.

Business Acumen | Understanding of P&L basics (labor % and COGS) is a major plus.

Communication | Ability to give clear direction and provide a detailed "Nightly Recap" for the GM.

Physical Ability | Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs.

Certifications | Valid Utah Food Handler’s Permit (ServSafe preferred).

    • Shift Meals: Enjoy our fresh, healthy meals on every shift.
    • Work-Life Balance: Competitive pay and a predictable closing schedule.
    • Culture: Work in a vibrant, health-conscious environment where your input actually matters.

Our Philosophy: We don’t just "close the store." We set the stage for tomorrow's success. If you have a sharp eye for detail and a passion for leading people, we want to meet you.
