The Clinician II in our Intellectual/Developmental Disability Case Management Services Division serves persons diagnosed with an intellectual or developmental disability.
They will facilitate the coordination, communication, and collaboration between individuals, families, service providers, and agencies for the purpose of supporting the individual.

Required Qualifications
VOCATIONAL/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
Requires a bachelor's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a closely related field or other degree as approved by the Virginia Department of Health Professions. A master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Rehabilitation is required for some assigned programs.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
In addition to satisfying the vocational/educational standard, this class requires a minimum of two years of related, full-time equivalent experience.
SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES:
Requires a valid driver's license and a driving record that is in compliance with City Driving Standards.
Depending on assignment, may require Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) or Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP) certification and highest Part C standards within 6 months of hire; CPR, First Aid and medication administration certifications within 3 months of hire, Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) certification upon hire, Case Management Modules and Intellectual Disabilities Workbook completed within thirty days of hire, Part C Early Intervention Certification within six months of hire, and/or Pre-Screening Certification within 6 weeks of hire (12 weeks for part-time staff).
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies. Emergency operations support work and work locations may be outside of normal job duties.
Preferred Qualifications
QIDP certification is preferred.
Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP)" means a person who possesses at least one year of documented experience working directly with individuals who has an intellectual disability or other developmental disabilities and one of the following credentials: (i) a doctor of medicine or osteopathy licensed in Virginia, (ii) a registered nurse licensed in Virginia, or (iii) completion of at least a bachelor's degree in a human services field, including, but not limited to sociology, social work, special education, rehabilitation counseling, or psychology
