Clinician I — Behavioral Health Counselor | Las Cruces, NM | Full-Time | In Person

At Choice Recovery Path (CRP), we believe every person deserves a chance to heal, and every clinician deserves a place to grow. We’re expanding our clinical team and looking for a driven, compassionate Clinician I (Non-Independently Licensed) to join us in serving individuals and families across New Mexico.

This is an in-person role with real clinical depth. You’ll work under the guidance of a Clinical Supervisor, delivering individual and group therapy to clients navigating addiction and mental health challenges, bringing your full skill set to a team that genuinely values what you bring to the table.

What You’ll Do

Working under the supervision of the Clinical Supervisor, you’ll deliver therapeutic interventions to clients with behavioral health diagnoses, including mental health and addiction-related disorders. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  •        Providing individual and group counseling servicesConducting biopsychosocial assessments and diagnosing mental health and substance use disorders
  •        Developing individualized, evidence-based treatment plansDelivering trauma-informed, recovery-focused care
  •        Monitoring client progress and adjusting treatment interventions as neededCollaborating with a multidisciplinary treatment team to coordinate seamless services
  •        Educating clients and families on addiction, relapse prevention, and mental healthParticipating actively in treatment team meetings and ongoing company training

    Maintaining accurate, timely documentation in compliance with federal, state, and local requirements

Job requirements

What We’re Looking For

  •        Active New Mexico license in good standing: LMHC, LMSW, LADAC, or LSAADegree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a closely related field
  •        1–2 years of experience in mental health, substance use, or co-occurring disorders preferredExperience working with individuals living with mental illness, substance use disorders, and/or intellectual disabilities
  •        Experience working with diverse ethnic/racial populations and individuals from rural communitiesExperience utilizing telehealth platforms for virtual sessions
  •        Solid knowledge of substance use and psychiatric conditions, treatments, and best practicesStrong clinical judgment, documentation skills, and ability to manage a caseload independently
  •        Ability to become credentialed with payor sourcesComfort with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
  •        Reliable personal transportation and a clean driving recordCurrent and Valid New Mexico driver’s license
