    The Clinical Value Analysis Coordinator reports to the Manager, Value Analysis and coordinates the evaluation, implementation, and optimization of clinical products, equipment, technologies, and purchased services across the health system.

    This role manages:

    New product requests
    Product evaluations
    Standardization initiatives
    Product discontinuations
    Supply disruption activities
    Patient safety concerns

    The Clinical Value Analysis Coordinator serves as a liaison between clinical stakeholders, sourcing, finance, and suppliers to facilitate evidence-based decision making that supports:

    Quality patient outcomes

    Financial stewardship

    Through collaboration with clinicians and operational leaders, this role conducts clinical, operational, and financial assessments and provides recommendations that align with organizational goals, value analysis principles, and supply chain strategies.

    Essential Functions

    Product Evaluation & Implementation

    • Coordinates and facilitates the evaluation of new product requests, product substitutions, equipment evaluations, technology assessments, standardization initiatives, and supplier conversion projects.
    • Reviews requests submitted through approved value analysis and sourcing processes and ensures appropriate stakeholder involvement and governance review.
    • Conducts product research and assessments to determine clinical appropriateness, operational impact, utilization requirements, compatibility with existing products and equipment, and overall organizational value.
    • Coordinates product trials and evaluations, including establishing trial objectives, collecting stakeholder feedback, analyzing results, and documenting recommendations.
    • Identifies clinically acceptable alternatives during product shortages, backorders, allocations, recalls, and product discontinuations to ensure continuity of patient care.

    Collaboration & Partnership

    • Collaborates with physicians, nursing leaders, clinicians, infection prevention, finance, sourcing, contracting, and operational leaders to evaluate requests and identify opportunities for standardization and cost optimization.
    • Partners with sourcing and contracting teams to ensure contract alignment, pricing validation, rebate optimization, and compliance with GPO and local agreements.
    • Evaluates sourcing and distribution strategies and collaborates with inventory management, logistics, and warehouse teams to support product implementation and ongoing supply chain operations.
    • Works collaboratively with Supply Chain, Clinical Operations, Finance, and other stakeholders to ensure consistent implementation of organizational policies and strategic initiatives.

    Analysis & Decision Support

    • Develops financial analyses, utilization reviews, and cost-benefit assessments to support evidence-based decision making.
    • Tracks and reports value analysis outcomes, including:
      • Cost savings
      • Cost avoidance
      • Standardization metrics
      • Utilization trends
      • Contract compliance
      • Quality improvements
    • Coordinates metrics, dashboards, reports, and performance indicators related to value analysis initiatives and implementation projects.

    Governance & Leadership

    • Chairs or co-chairs and facilitates assigned Value Analysis governance committees and product review teams.
    • Develops meeting agendas, presentations, reports, minutes, recommendations, and follow-up communications.
    • Coordinates committee voting processes and maintains official records of decisions and approvals.
    • Promotes value analysis principles throughout the organization and serves as a resource regarding product utilization, standardization, and evidence-based purchasing decisions.

    Supply Chain Optimization

    • Maintains productive supplier relationships and enforces organizational policies related to vendor access and supplier engagement.
    • Assists with contract conversions, product standardization efforts, and enterprise-wide supply chain optimization projects.
    • Supports supply resiliency and risk mitigation initiatives through proactive identification of alternative products and sourcing strategies.
    • Participates in strategic sourcing, category management, and performance improvement initiatives.
    • Assists with education and communication efforts related to value analysis processes and organizational purchasing standards.

    Education

    Required

    Associate's Degree Nursing preferred, will accept Radiologic Technology, Surgical Technology, or related field required

    Preferred

    Bachelor's Degree Nursing preferred, will accept Radiologic Technology, Surgical Technology, or related field preferred

    Experience

    Required

    3 years clinical experience in nursing required OR

    5+ years clinical experience in:

    • Procedural Services
    • Perioperative Services
    • Invasive Services
    • Radiology
    • Cardiac Services
    • Related healthcare setting

    Preferred

    Healthcare supply chain, value analysis, sourcing, contracting, materials management, product evaluation, or operational improvement experience

    Leading or supporting product evaluations, clinical trials, standardization initiatives, or conversion projects

    Working collaboratively with physicians, clinicians, operational leaders, and cross-functional teams

    Financial analysis, utilization reporting, and data-driven decision support

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

    Clinical & Supply Chain Knowledge

    Knowledge of healthcare value analysis methodologies and governance processes

    Knowledge of clinical products, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, equipment, and purchased services utilized in acute care settings

    Understanding of healthcare supply chain operations, sourcing, contracting, inventory management, and logistics

    Knowledge of GPO agreements, contract compliance principles, and supplier management practices

    Knowledge of regulatory, accreditation, infection prevention, patient safety, and quality standards impacting product decisions

    Analytical Skills

    Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to evaluate clinical and financial data

    Ability to perform cost-benefit analyses and develop business recommendations

    Strong problem-solving and decision-support capabilities

    Leadership & Communication

    ️ Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and facilitation skills

    Ability to build relationships and effectively collaborate with physicians, clinicians, executives, suppliers, and operational leaders

    Ability to influence decision-making without direct authority

    Strong project management, planning, and organizational skills

    Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

    Technology Skills

    Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including:

    • Pivot tables
    • Formulas
    • Data analysis
    • Reporting

    Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and reporting tools

    Experience working with ERP, MMIS, contract management, or supply chain systems preferred
