Under the general supervision of the Deputy Commissioner of Behavioral Health or designee, this position provides assessments, treatments, psychotherapy, case management and referrals to a broad range of clients, including those which are severely mentally ill and those dealing with adjustment issues. Clinical Therapist supports the client’s physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing, works directly with clients to actively listen to problems and concerns, and suggest healthy and productive coping methods.
Incumbent is required to work independently with minimal supervision, use initiative, and exercise sound judgement in carrying out responsibilities in accordance with established departmental, local, and federal guidelines. Work is reviewed through meetings, conferences, and approaches taken to handle caseloads.
This position requires a confidential relationship to a policymaker.
